Ordinary?

Who wants to live an ordinary life? How about a mediocre life? No one ever says that this is what they desire yet, if you look around you it’s what you see the most. People going about their business just living ordinary lives. Maybe you don’t have to look to far. Maybe if you go to the mirror you will see what I’m talking about. Many times I’ve felt like, “what am i doing and why am i living for the regular ordinary things instead of giving myself to the greater things in life.”

What is ordinary? When i mean ordinary i am not refering to the titles that follow us: student, son, daughter, burger flipper, retail associate, etc.  Titles, jobs, family roles; this is not what makes life ordinary. What makes life ordinary is living for ordinary things and living for ordinary dreams. What are all your friends or most people in you hood or school living for? Cars, jobs, clothes, etc. Mostly material things with an end to impress others and build themselves up right? Living out of the ordinary is when you get these things cause you need them but they are not your hearts desire and more importantly, they don’t define like the world says they should.

Live for more than just status or the next big thing. Live for more than just money or paying bills. Live for something greater than yourself.
